Leader U is held every summer in Austin, Texas. This year's theme was "You Are the Expert". Duncanville ATPE was able to send five members to the three day event. The members spent time filling their "Tool Boxes" with ideas and information to enable them to become better leaders.
Friday night's banquet was dubbed "You Are the Star". Members from across the state were honored for their hard work and dedication to ATPE. Beth Sheffield (Central Elementary ) was recognized for her tremendous financial contributions to the Political Action Committee (PAC) and Dee Carlile (Central Elementary) was recognized for his recruiting efforts in 2007-2008.
Perks for attendees included the opportunity to earn CPE credits, flash drives, and one additional gift. In addition, every attendee was given the gift of an actual tool box.
